Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450g chicken tenders – Trimmed and ready for cooking.
  • 1 large apple – Preferably Honeycrisp or Granny Smith thinly sliced.
  • 1/4 cup 60ml honey – For a natural sweetness and sticky glaze.
  • 2 tbsp 30ml soy sauce – Adds a rich umami flavor; use reduced-sodium if preferred.
  • 2 cloves garlic – Minced for aromatic depth.
  • 2 tbsp 30g unsalted butter – For cooking and enhancing the glaze.
  • 2 tbsp 30ml apple cider vinegar – Adds tanginess to balance the sweetness.
  • 1/4 tsp 1g red pepper flakes (optional) – For a spicy kick.
  • 1 tsp 5g fresh thyme or rosemary (optional) – Chopped, for a fragrant, earthy twist

Instructions

  • Sear chicken tenders in butter until golden brown.
  • Create the glaze by sautéing garlic, honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar.
  • Add fresh apple slices to the glaze and simmer.
  • Coat the chicken in the glaze and simmer until fully cooked.
  • Serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use crisp apples like Honeycrisp for the best flavor and texture.
  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy twist.
